Greta Running Away

Easter morning can be rush, rush, rush. Trying to get out the door for church with all your  Easter goodies for your family events can be difficult. The Easter of 2021 was much  different. Randee had awoken early to get the chores done before waking up the children  and getting ready for church. She opened the gate for the goats to give them their breakfast and outran Greta. Randee didn’t think much about it, the goats always stay in the yard,  stay together, and don’t go far from the food. So, she let her go and went on feeding the  goats. But this time was different! By the time Randee came out of the pen, she couldn’t  find Greta! ANYWHERE!!! How could a very pregnant goat run that fast. She spent a long  time wondering around her property looking for her. Finally, she went inside and enlisted  Joshua’s help. After an hour or so of looking, Easter church wasn’t going to happen, and  the neighbors were helping. We had traveled all over our property, our neighbors, over the railroad, through the woods, and even to grandma’s house we went (just kidding, but we did  knock on our neighbors’ doors). We couldn’t find her anywhere. At some point, Randee  was on the far side of the property when she got a call from Joshua, Greta was on her way  back. She had walked the back of our property, through the woods, crossed 117, and had  traveled down Wonderlick road visiting the dogs in the backyards. But then decided to  come home. That afternoon Randee ended up helping her have triplets: Grace, Gus Gus,  and Gelly Bean! Apparently, she just needed one last hurrah before becoming a mom.
